That phase in life

Did you just say that you’re about to turn 20 this year? Congratulations! I hope you get the right support that you deserve.

“Turning 20” is that phase of life where it starts to get uncomfortable. Remember that your parents are also aging with you. Therefore, they’ll start to look forward for you to get mature and step up to take some responsiblities now.

Responsibilities, here you will begin to understand how heavy that word is.

I also turned 20 this year and I’ll be lying if I say that everything is going just as I thought as a child with my friends who aren’t even in contact with me now. I am begining to lose my control over my life. Not finding enough time for the butterflies, giggles or getting upset over little things. Pampering is for the kids. And, whenever I look at the sky now, it doesn’t feel same.

I guess I’m stressing way too much. But, then again I’m acting accordingly to what I see and if I’ve to tell then I see that my family needs this.

It’s not just them, it’s everyone. Everyone around you always expect you to act more maturely. But the thing is, it is forced on you no one is patient enough to sit and teach.

For my 20 y/o heros, I know, I understand the mental pressure you must be carrying with you. I’m currently there too and I made this rule for me that goes like”the C.P.U. rule” where, C- calm, P- patient, U- understand. If you want to make it with a smile on your face then you’ve to be calm, patient and understand that no one has it easy. Also, you’ve to be completely unbothered about all the negativity and things that irritates you because if you’ll indulge your time in that, then it’ll ruin your patience level. Focusing on your breathing helps a lot in situations like that.

Additionally, love yourself, love your body and love your soul because at the end of the day you’ve to be your own soldier since everyone is busy saving themselves.
